The only thing those 6x9's will do is mess up your sound stage. Look at something like DLS, CDT, Diamond Audio, Morel. You can get some DLS UP6's for about $280, and they will sound much better.
OK, so which will sound the best? I don't want to exnay the rears all together. I would think they should be replaced anyway... I found those DLS UP6's for $240... Are they really that much better than the JL's? And which outta those would be the best sound?... Heck I found some DLS for like $550 for 2 way component... That is just insane how this can add up QUICK!

Telling someone which speakers are the best can be a very controversial thing. However, I would definitely say that the DLS UP6 would be better than those JL's. My experience with JL speakers has been somewhat disappointing. They make fantastic amps and subs, but anything from the XR line down is so-so. I'm sure you will find alot of testimonials for DLS. I am also a big fan of CDT. To me the JL's lack the smoothness that can be found in other speakers. They sound almost artificial, not as natural as a speaker such as DLS or CDT. But it all comes down to personal taste. As far as the rears, you will find alot of people who have removed those to allow for venting of the subs, especially with 2 10W6's back there. That will create alot of pressure. Also, round speakers have the best sonic reproduction vs. oval 6x9's. Some people like the music all around them. Personally, I do like a little rear fill, but there are ALOT of people who like the sound stage to come from the front only. And this does make sense, because when you go to a concert, the music comes from up front, the only music from the rear is any reverberations.

Imaging that produced a frontal soundstage is also how studio recording are made. Where do the microphones go?

Artists sing/play to your face, not to your back.

Yeah, but I do like the surround sound aspect so I will have speakers in the rear... After reading the above I might go with 6.5's in the rear as well...(If they will fit)

I mean how can you listen to Pink Floyd without having the rear speakers???? The helicopter just would not be the same, ya know...

Ordered my 10.5" trunk monitor today... Now to start the Audio buying...

I will check out CDT now.... Thanks for the info guys.

That is a good place to get them. I didn't mean to pee in your cheerios...Go for the JL's if that's what you really want. They are decent, but it sounds like you are going all out. And if you are, then I think you can do better.

Thumbs up

That is the best setup you can have.!!!
I promise you that you will not be dissapointed one bit.!!
Just make sure that you use 0 gauge wire for that because you are not playing around with the stuff you have.!!!
Look into getting a 200+amp alternator too.!!
Trust me,that stuff is no joke when it comes to power.!!

The HD's for sure. They are a better speaker than the CL series. You'll notice that they are B quality, but in the case of CDT, they don't sell any inferior speakers. The only way that they are called "B" is if they are cosmetically flawed or if the packaging is old. I bought a set of CL's for my mother's Z and they were "B" products, and haven't had ANY problems with them. And they sound beautiful. Just keep in mind, these speakers are going to have a more natural sound, so if you are big into hip-hop and techno, there may be a better speaker for you. Oh, and they aren't pretty to look at either, because they put more $$ into R&D instead of chrome and LED lights...lol

I just bought 2 - 10w6v2's and a 1000/1 Amp for my coupe, i heard that 500/1 is good for one sub adding a second sub on the same 500/1 amp will increase sound by about 3db but if you add the second sub and increase to the 1000/1 amp there is a 6db increase, there are some other people on this board that are running 2 10w6v2's with the 1000/1 amp so i decided to order that, i will be installing my subs this weekend im just waiting for the parts to be delivered

Front speakers are as follows

http://cgi.ebay.com/CDT-Audio-HD-62-6-1-2-Component-System_W0QQitemZ150028939872QQihZ005QQcategoryZ32819QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

I think these should be fine for the rears. Tweeters should not be needed for the rear deck.

Thanks again for all the help in this endeavor!!!
