Audio Speaker/amp set up (Final)

I think the B version are fine for either application. I personally would go with the B's unless you are going to expose the speakers/grilles. Because $100 is alot that can go towards something else, and you really are getting the same product. Not to mention for $400 there are probably better speakers out there. lol Now I bet you are really confused!!! hahaha. You could get a set of DLS Iridiums for $400 which are probably even better. BUT, the tweeter is going to be hard to mount unless you make a custom enclosure. Sorry, now I'm probably being more of a pain in the *** than help, but I didn't know what your budget was/is. So, what is your budget? If it is $400 for the fronts, then go with the DLS Iridiums. Are you doing the install yourself?

A$$....................
Dayum... You are killn' me here. Your name is starting to even look like (kronic03) to me instead of (khsonic03)...
Not alot of info at all on the DLS's on the web...
confused.... confused.... you have no idea.......
oh, and budget.... wtf is a budget.....?......
install it myself..... you crazy?!?!..... I did see your install by the way. Very nice and clean... Did you make that enclosure yourself or is it a 4080? Nice Job...

LOL. Sorry bro. It would have been better if I asked from the get go how much you wanted to spend. Yes, I made that enclosure myself (4080 wasn't big enough for the 10w7). I did all of it myself. Aight, so here it is, cut and dry (my opinions of course):
If your "budget" is $300, go with the HD62's "B" stock.
If your "budget" is $400, go with the DLS iridiums (absolutely awesome comps) BUT, whoever installs your system will have to make a custom mount for the tweets (or kicks).
The rears are fine as those HD 62's "B" stock. And again, the installer will have to make or buy a custom plate for the round speakers vs. 6x9's.
Is that better?

I think these should be fine for the rears. Tweeters should not be needed for the rear deck.

Thanks again for all the help in this endeavor!!!

Starting to wish I didn't care about the bling of the Z1 and wishing I had the SQ control and kick *** sound the alpine put out.
Congrats, looking good and take out those damn rear speakers!(Unless your thinking of getting Dolby 5.1 or something)

^^ Agreed! Don't skimp on the front speakers!! Those are the most important of all the speakers in your car! I would much rather see you ditch those rears and put the $$ in the fronts so you can still have your blingin' 21" monitor. Maybe the "B" stock CDT HD62's might be your best bet for $300.

WTF Triji? I thouhgt you said "final"...you go from XR's to CDT's and now you are thinking of DLS's? ...you are worse than girls shopping for shoes...hehehe
How are you going to install the front speakers? its just going into stock locations without some sort of enclosure or attemping to seal it off? or they are going into kicks/door pods? if its formal, then different brand of speakers do not make whloe lot of difference(to a point of course), especially for the mids.

I wanted nice quality sound, but not show. I went with the following middle of last year:
1. One JL W7 Sub
2. JL special enclosure HO110R-W7
3. One JL 500/1 Mono Sub Amp
4. One JL 300/4 Multi Channel Amp for front and back component sets
5. One Pyle 5 Farad Capacitor (Red Line) PLCAP50R
6. Two sets of JL VR-CSi component sets for front and rear (Not doing 6/9 or Coaxial in rear)
7. One Alpine CDA-9855 head unit (Will change to double din soon)
8. One Alpine 6 Disc MP3 / CD changer CHA-S634
9. One Peswix Steering Wheel Control Unit
10. Dynamat kit and bulk pack (do trunk, doors, floor, etc...)
11. Plus the Double Din Kit JDM
12. Added JL amp and speaker kits.
13. Custom work for trunk (Non-fiber glass)
Never needed a new alternator or battery.
Here is a pic of the trunk (No space, but the sounds is amazing quality is amazing)

I cannot express how nice this sounds and how important it is to have the right tuned enclosure with the right about of air volume for the sub.

im using DLS UP6 and they sound good. However, i had to do some major tweakage with my HU. When I left it alone, it sounded weird. Im also running 2 10w6v2s with a 1000/1 amp and haven't had problems. I dont think its overkill. One problem I had was that my stock battery died after not driving my car for 4 days. I'm not sure if the audio had anything to do with it or if my battery just sucked.. but 4 day is very short if you ask me. I switched to a yellowtop and havent had problems with the battery dying anymore (i have a daily driver so my car sits at home for most of the week.) Have fun with your setup man.. your car will rattle more than it does stock.. which is VERY hard to believe! Lol
