About the 2-way starter/alarm working range in big builddig

Does anyone has this kind of experience:
Let's say I got a 2-way start /alarm system which said 6000ft range. The installer told me actually in the normal open area it can do 1 mile.
But If I am sitting in 20 floors in a big building and the car is parking in the underground parking lot will this one still working?

If anyone has some recommandtion about this kind of situation please let me know.
Thanks a lot!

I don't think anything will work. If you cell phone works in that garage you may want to look at Audiovox with telematic module. But even with telematic module it may not work.

kind of a rule of thumb is every wall in the way cut it down 1/4 maybe. I have a Compustar that says 1 mile range. but if i am in a building with lots fo walls between me and the car, i get about 200ft max. best way is to get a buddy that has one to come visit you, and page his car from your location and see if it sends back a signal. that way you know if the unit that you want to get is gonna work., jus tbe sure they are close to the same models. but cars themselves can shorten the distance too. Electrical systems and window tint play havoc on Alarms and Starters.
