VSS wire Help

I have a new 2006 6MT. I did a search for the last 4 days and still cant find anything. I know I read somewhere before that someone figured this out. I want to run a wire from the stock navi to the trunk release button in the glove box. I found the white and green wire in the 2x10 harness and cut the wire in half and ran it to the switch but the navi did not do anything. Has anyone tried this on an 06. I know that the white/green wire is the right one because I did an install on my girlfriends 05 g35 and everything worked out. Any help would be great thanks.

Double check the wire you cut. The wire you're looking for is white with a green stripe. It's located on the longer plug out of the two that go to the navi unit (DVD-rom behind glove box).

Thanks for the info I will give it another try this weekend. I have taken the dash apart so many times it only takes about 20 min to take it apart and put it back together.
