avic-z1 - new amp/speakers no more navi directions

I was wondering if anyone knows a possibility or if there is a dumb option to change the navigation voice and beeping noise when changing options to come on? I added a new amp and new front components the music sounds great but I no longer hear the beeping or the voice for the navigation. I searched and read through the instructions and I could not find an answer. Please let me know if there is a setting because I added a new amp and speakers which altered because I was on the factory amp/speakers and everything was working fine.

I am also aware of the volume settings i put them at max and still could not hear anything. so weird but the music is working perfect. i have the navi/beep set to L+R speakers but nothing. any help would be appreciated.

thanks

I know there's an option to change what will interrupt or sound when your music is playing including the phone or navi. I'm going out later tonight, so maybe I can be of more help when I'm actually in front of the unit.

hmm someone on avic411.com said that it may be because I used the RCA outputs and if you use those supposedly you need the guide speaker. Anyone have a navi unit hooked to an amp and needed that speaker? Any input from anyone who has experienced the same please respond. thanks

You need to use the Nav Speaker wires and add a seperate speaker for it. They are Blue/White and White/ Black found in one of the plugs behind the radio. They aren't amplified so you may need to add a small amplified speaker.

Why would you need to do that, before I added the new stuff it was working fine and I did not need to tap into anohter harness to have those sounds. Just wondering the reasoning. Thanks
