New Clarion MAX675VD Double Din

Just wanted to get other peoples opinion on the new Clarion MAX675VD for my 04 G35 Coupe.
http://clarion.com/us/en/products/20...643389338.html
I have my finisher and a/c controller sitting in a box and am trying to decide which double din to put in my ride. I don't really need navigation so I am not going to pay the extra cash for a feature that I'm not interested in. The only other unit I am leaning towards is the Kenwood 6019. If anyone has any input, I would appreciate your comment.

If you have a picture of this headunit in your car, can you post it. I've went to Tweeters and looked at the unit and it is not that impressive to me. Don't get me wrong, I am an alpine fan for its sound quality but this particular head unit doesn't seem to compliment the G35 dash trim.

For as much complaining that there is regarding the stock Clarion headunit (and I agree that the factory headunit is junk for sound) I'll have to agree with the original poster. Clarion is great. I have an old Clarion headunit and 6 disc changer which is about 8-9 years old. Still works great and the remote control is just as awesome. Smaller than a credit card. I also have a Pioneer AVIC-N1 and it feels just plain cheap compared to my old Clarion.

Is their any additional fabrication needed to make different models of head units to fit flush in the bracket and console. So far looking at other peoples posts, it looks like the Kenwood 6019 looks the best. (Not to say has the best features. Just very clean)

I know. I can't find any authorized retailers who are selling this item. I first saw it appear for sale through hookedontronics.com and then on ebay at a few stores. Average price is in the $650 range. Kinda want to actually see it in person before buying it from online seller. Kinda worried about buying it before they work out the bugs. Also $650 seems low. Maybe its just that technology is getting cheaper. The video ipod playback sounds like a winner. We'll see when this item hits 'brick and mortar' stores.

This unit plays video ipod!!? I just got back from the local Clarion dealer with a good quote (not cheaper than the MSRP price, but saves me a bunch with no shipping). Now I definitely have to get the Clarion, and get me a new ipod with video!

Whats the pre-out voltage for this unit? cant seem to find it in the catalog. Wonder if it's only 2V like the alpine one.

Yeah, that's the only thing that's stopping me from getting this unit to replace my Pioneer 6600DVD. My pioneer has 4V pre-outs and if the Clarion has less i dont want less.
