stereo display not working
stereo display not working
I was installing a line out converter for an extra amp and subs, but when i finished, the display for the stereo wasn't working. It plays, changes discs, and everything else but the display just doesn't light up. I checked most of the fuses i thought it could be, in cabin and under the hood, but found nothing blown. The lights for the climate control are fine, as well as the clock and climate display.
Has anyone experienced this or can point me to the right direction? This is a '05 coupe with the premium package btw.

I am having the same problem
Same problem here with my 03 sedan. The stereo display doesn't work, yet I can still change songs. In addition, my climate controls don't respond - yet the display remains lit. These two problems coincide, and occur spiratically. I have an appointment with the dealership, so I'll keep u posted when I figure it out.
Interior is fully stock with NO MODS.

Make sure the light switch for the interior display is not all the way to dim. That was my problem once

The same thing happend to me this morning with my '03 sedan. None of the buttons on the center console controls respond. But the radio does function via the buttons on the steering wheel. What did the dealer find was the problem?

It's rather strange that the radio still works from the steering wheel controls. Has anyone verified that the problem isn't just a blown fuse?

For the display make sure you didn't fry one of the LED bulbs. IF thats not the problem I'd go back stock and have the dealer fix it under warranty.
The problem with my radio and A/C controls was caused by a short in the radio finisher circuit board. Replacing this part solved the problem.
Fyi, the cost of the part and labor was $543.68 and $167.93, respectively, for a total $711.61, which almost covered the cost of the third-party extended warranty (4 year/75k miles) I purchased 6 months ago.
