Have you tried listening to a w6 in a car? How about a w7? I would demo them before making your final decision. As mentioned above, the w1 will have a physical advantage due to bigger diameter, but the w6s have better power handling, tighter bass, and deeper punch.
I have a single 10W7 and ~65sqft of dynamat extreme in my coupe. I still need more dynamat... Hope that puts things in perspective.

I would go with two 13's. You can drive them off a less powerful amp and get a great sound from them. The only downside the box will be larger.
