Question I was hoping any audio experts could help me out...(amp and sub)

I was hoping any audio experts could help me out...

(I have bose.)

I want to get a 4080 box w/ a JL 10w3.
I need an amp w/ sub volume control. was looking at JL250 or 500.
BUT to save $, i have a lanzar from old set up(lanzar amp details below).
Questions:
Think the lanzar could handle the JL sub well?
If so do in need 10W3V2D4 or 10W3V2D2 ?

Lanzar

2 x 300 Watts at 2 Ohms RMS
Electronic Crossover Network
Bass Boost Circuit
Bridgeable at 4 Ohms
2 Ohms Stereo Stable
Gold RCA Inputs
Line Outs For Left & Right Channels.

Also, what method below is best or should I use to connect this amp to 1- 10"?

NOTE: If your amp does NOT accept differential-balanced input signals on its input jacks, you MUST get a LOC that is capable of converting the differential-balanced signals in the G35 to the standard single-ended signals the aftermarket amp is expecting on its input jacks. Soundgate makes an amp that does this.

2. Splicing braided/twisted RCA cables (PREFERRED IF YOUR AMP ACCEPTS DIFFERENTIAL-BALANCED INPUTS!!!). If your amp accepts differential-balanced inputs on its RCA input jacks, all you must accomplish to connect your amp is to convert the speaker wires in the G35 to RCA-style connectors that your amp requires. While a LOC will accomplish this task, it is overkill and adds unnecessary complexity and possible noise into your system. If you have ever cut open a standard RCA cable, you will notice that there are two conductors, one of which is often VERY tiny. Splicing such a tiny conductor to a speaker wire is very difficult and does not yield quality sound for your inputs (which the entire system is dependant upon!) Look for twisted RCA cables, or braided RCA cables. These use thicker gauge wiring for both conductors. INOXS makes cables that work well for this.

Are you running a new W3 (the one witht he black face and says w3)? I don't know to much about the Lanzar amps but my guess would be it should be fine but also depends on what type of bass you are trying to get out of the subs. I had two 10 in W3's (the ones that say JL in the middle) and they hit hard off of a 500/1. They are now sitting in my storage (trying to sell =) because I upgraded to 2 12's and a custom enclosure. If you go on JL Audio's it will tell you the specs and 500 watts is to much for 1 JLW3. The 250 will do just fine. Check out this link

If you use the Lanzar, you'll need to get the 10W3V2D2 and run the DVC's in series to give you a 4 ohm impedence. It doesn't appear that the Lanzar is stable to a single bridged 2 ohm load.

That seems to confirm info i just got elsewhere...

"I'd get the 10W3v2-D2 (2-ohm model) and run them in series (connect one voice coil's negative to the negative of the amp, the other voice coils positive to the positive of the amp and connect the first voice coils positive to the second voice coils negative). This will create an ohm load of 3.31 based on JL specs online.

With your amp running bridged, it will be at 3.31 ohms and should be fine since it says it's capable of running bridged at 4 ohms. It may run a little hot but you'll be fine.

It looks like they only recommend 250 watts for the ideal power to the sub, so you can turn the gain down on the amp and it will run cooler for it, too."
