Word! Thank you, G8u. That did the trick. Looks good, too.

I don't like the 03 clock at all so I picked up an 06 and rigged it right up. 60 bucks and some butchering of the 03 clock housing to make the 03 parts drop in but it looks 20x better IMO.

if anyone wants to go local on this, i went to radioshack and picked up 2 "mini lamp bulbs" (Part no. 272-1141) for $1.49 each = total of $3 bucks. Stripped the wires and had them line up perfectly. Looks just like stock.

I just purchased the two bulb and socket assy's to light up the clock. Please note that the old part number 24860AM600 was superseded by part number 24860AM620.
Below is one of many OEM part distributors. These cost way too much at 8.00/ea plus shipping. I'm going to keep my interior lights dimmed a little.
BTW- Just bought a used 2003 G35 last week with 54500 miles in cherry condition. Traded a 2001 Volvo wagon with 100k for 9000.00usd difference.

not necessary

It just looks OEM, there is nothing to see. It just lights up like it was ment to at night.

I'm having trouble getting the plastic piece to pull off so I can get to the clock, can someone explain better how to remove it? I know to pull the entire casing towards the seats, and just to make sure, i pull the plastic that surrounds the clock and the display above the clock towards the seats? Where do I grab it, its way too slippery and theres no good grip or way to pry it off

The tabs are level with the ground and in the corners of the plastic piece. get your finger nail behine each side and pull straight out. Or try a screwdriver on each side.
