Last night I took apart my gauge cluster, sanded off the orange and added blue tint. When I installed the gauge cluster today, all of the needles were off. Apparently I was idling at 8k rpm and had a full tank of gas, I swear I only had 1/4 tank before.
Does anyone know what procedures the nissan techs use to align them?
I checked the service manual for about 3 hours and found nothing.
This is mostly directed towards accordfreak because he is the pioneer here. But anyone that know their stuff please help. I have to drive an hour to pick up my cousin with no speedo, tach, or fuel gauge. I guess I better fill up asap. LOL.

Did you disconnect the battery before taking it out? Try to reset the ECU. BTW how does the blue film look?

do they move freely? if so, you have to move turn the needles (one way or the other) until you feel some resistance to adjust them. I hope you understand. Little hard to explain.

They do move freely. The speedo seems almost acurate, about 20mph over. The tach is crazy, it will start at 2500rpm and wont move until I let off then it goes to zero and back up when I hit neutral. The gas light seems okay, but the temp gauge is off the fritz.
I'll try to adjust them again. Bad news is I have to redo the tint. I did 4 layers of autozone tint which is almost purple/black. Would look soooo sick at night but unreadable for daylight hours. I recall you had the same problem. I'm gonna do one layer on the tach but two one the speedo. temp, and fuel.
Also I'm getting good at taking the gauges out. I can get them free in under 10 mins.
P.S. I have an set of automatic gauges(wont fit my manual) all sanded down and done with blue tint. Anyone who wants them can have them. Free parts.
Also I get my GTR overlays tomorrow. Fun stuff.

adjust them with the car on.. say for example the needle is at 2500rpms with the car fully warmed up (car idles around 500 rpms), turn the needle counter clockwise until you feel resistance. When you feel the resistance turn it about 1/4-1/2 in or so and let the needle go on its own to see where the needle sits. If it's not satisfactory, turn it some more at the same point of resistance. VIS VERSA if you want the needle to sit higher up.

I haven't messed with the G gauges yet, but from past experience (trying to get my gas to show below 1/4 to park inside for HIN), it sounds like something is not connected right. Make sure you attached all the wires internally and external of the gauges. Check to make sure the grounding is correct and a fuse didn't blow.

we had this problem also. follow accord freak's instructions and push the needle past the point of resistance roughly the same amount of degrees that it is off.

crap you probably broke them, same thing happened to me with my past vehicle and there was no way to fix them, it was cheaper to get a new instrument cluster...your project might have gone down the drain....post if you find solution
