a little more bass
ok, flame me if you want and tell me to do some research, etc..
I am looking to just get a little more bass in my stock coupe bose unit.
I've hooked up expensive systems back in high school (13 years ago) and haven't been n the game since.
i just want a box in the trunk that wont take up too much room and will give some quality sound.
I see alot of people selling used equip and I have no problem buying used equip. I will probably pay cartoys to have it professionally installed.
I'm looking to spend around $600
Any advice on what speaker(s), amp and who can make the best box that can fit inconspicuously (doesn't have to be inconspicuous, just dont want to take up the whole trunk) in the trunk, would be greatly appreciated.
Again, I don't mind buying used equipment, just as long as it's not damaged
Thanks

if you look around in this same area, there is a group buy going on for the 4080 box, which is very stealthy and also can house a 10" speaker....the choices for them are up to you. but look around and you will find your answer
ur really pushing it with 600 bux for everything. u can try lookin on ebay for some good deals on slightly used stuff. anything alpine is good so if u can maybe look for an apline type r and and alpine amp

thx for the tips. I know you can't go wrong with JL audio, alpine, audiobahn, etc.. Just so many choices these days. The amp is where I'm having most trouble deciding. It's like how much power is too much and of course you don't want something that doesn't have enough power and has to work extra hard to power the sub.
I'll keep combing the marketplace forum and do some research on the 4080 box

I think I'm gonna get the 4080 enclosure and put a JL 10w6v2 in it.
What amp do you think would be sufficient?
Wish I could hear one 10w6v2 installed in a 4080 box. I'm almost tempted to get two, but think that might be too much.
thanks again.

I found a person selling a new-in-box (probably hot)106v2 for $250. Another person selling a used JL 500/1 amp for $250. and $275 for the 4080 box =$775 not installed.
Kind of expensive setup for one 10". Better not rattle the trunk lid at all for that much.
I'm sure the JL 500/1 amp is enough power, just curious if it is a good buy for $250

Both of these are for sale on my home board. I think they would be local to you.

I contacted both of those sellers.
hey guys, is there a DIY for this anywhere, for a 2006 coupe, prem setup? i'm looking to do this same exact thing, my old car had 2 rockford 12's in the trunk, i'm DYING without the bass.... i have the bose premium system, want to switch everything out but don't have the cash to go full bore with audio quite yet.
i'd like to do this stuff myself... i installed my entire system in the old car, but modeled it after a friend's setup. heard nightmare of audio techs ripping cars apart, scratching stuff, all in all not being very gentle with their cars.
is there any simple way to do this? seems like that center piece is gonna be a PAIN to remove.....
THANKS guys.

The price of your system has nothing to do with your trunk rattling.
