Use ALL of the screw mounting holes. There is a lot of air pressure in tha box when the sub working.

It isn't uncommon for the JL bass ***** to stop working. Mine used to work, but doesn't now. JL makes amps that sound good and put out good power, but they do malfunction. I'm on my second 500/5.

New Update!!!

Andrew just came over and we wired everything up, and used all 10 screws to secure the sub instead of the 4 he was using and turned the sub a little so it wasnt hitting the walls of the 4080.... this **** sounds as good as my 2 12's in my sedan, doesnt hit as hard but sounds just as good.

Yup, the bass **** is working, the sub is hitting hard, and Im very, very pleased with how it sounds.

The bass **** was fixed by flipping on the "Bass EQ" switch from off to on
The rattling was fixed by rotating the sub in the box so it didnt hit the back of the box and by using all 10 screws instead of the 4 I had before.

Thanks again Kurtis and Grant for your help, and everyone else too.

Glad to hear you worked it all out. Knew you'd be happy with that set-up.
