Okay after listening to Sirius in my wifes FX35, I think I want it for my G35C.

I currently have the PAC11NIS for my Ipod and TVandNAVtogo for my PS2 hooked up. So I cant get factory Sirius (nor do I want it, I hate that our screen has to manually scroll!)

So I am thinking about the Sportster 4 or the starmate 4 and run it into the AUX on the TVandNAV to go box.
The problem is WHERE TO MOUNT IT. I dont want it on the dash, cause that looks corny.. the only place I could think of is in the sunglass holder compartment. I think it might fit. Has anyone installed either of these units, if so, please post a pic!

im on the same boat brotherman....im gettin the sportster 4 for my birthday next week, im on the same mission as you on where to mount it.

and the sportster 4 is way better then the starmate 4, by far, I was playing with both, and the sportster 4 is way more capable and easier to use

i dunno yet, it says it comes with vent mounts, so im gonna see about those, but since our vents swivel up and down, I dont know how effective thats gonna be, I might just end up fabing something up, as soon as I get it im gonna try to see whats goin on

I am in the same boat, have the sportster and want a concealed mount! If youi have a non-navi car I think the cubby above the climate control would work well(which I have). However the issue seems to be that the cradle is to large to fit with the receiver. I was hoping to mount to the underside of the flip up door, receiver fts hear really slick, I think industrial velcrowould hold it well! So it seems you need the cradle which sucks, unless you can get a custome wiring pin setup that plugs in the bottom of the receiver. The other option I have seen hear is using the drink holder, but I am in the car alot and always use the thing(it really isn't so big to begin with. So that is my brain storm, any other thoughts! Not sure if my sprtster is a 4 or not, waht are the upgraded features?

I have the starmate replay (the older model) and have been trying to figure out where the F to put it for the longest time. The factory option will not work for me cause I use my Sirius at my desk at work all day. My network admins will not allow me to use the online streaming feature. The starmate is much smaller than the sportster and I know my older model starmate will fit in all the compartments listed above. The starmate 4 is even thinner than the one I have now so if you go with that all options are open. Right now I am using the vent mounts, and like someone said above they pretty much suck. The unit is too heavy for the vent. What I had to do is take that little plastic keychain thing that you get from the dealerships that list the year model and make. I have that folded way up and shoved on the bottom of the vent. It is ghetto I know but the only thing I could do to get it to work. I thought about the sunglasses holder but found that driving with that down blocks a lot of the rear-view mirror, so I don’t think that is an option. I am thinking of going with the cubby hole where the factory nav goes. I am going to go to a few stereo shops around and see what they think they can do for a custom mount. If anyone can come up with a good solution lets share it here!

Revisiting my old post.. I did buy it, but ended up mounting it with the arm that connects to the windshield. One other option I have been considering is the are thing attached to the center console (sort of like the Pro clip)?

you know...thats what I did....But I did fab up a little plate of aluminum and sandwiched it in the proclip, then covered it in felt and mounted the sportster 4 on the top, so the navi & that are at the same level, so all I have to do is pan across and not pan and tilt (hope this makes sense LMAO)

Im gonna try n take a picture when I go to lunch (Hopefully it stops pouring here)
