Great work!

If you have time, you should do a full DIY with wire diagrams so others can learn from all the time you put into it. The other option is to put together a very complete DIY with lots of pics, etc and sell it for ~$20 on the marketplace. I think people would buy.

Nope, did not have premium package. I added the faceplate later. The different between premium package and the nonpremium is just the faceplate of the radio. The headunit itself is the same.

It will work by itself. You just need to hook up the video wires to the screen. It uses RGB instead of component video, just keep that in mind.

Do you know the difference in wiring for the 06 compared to the 05? Is the 06 screen different from the 05 screen?

Does that mean there's no hope, (im talking about that thread when people wanted to change the start up screen and they thought you can change it with files altered on the DVD), to change your start up screen. Its the actual unit that creates the logo?

WE NEED A DIY FOR THIS!!!!!!! Tear it apart, take photos, note the exact materials you purchased for this (by part # and photo) so you have the play-by-play, a materials list and maybe a diagram!

I'm soooo tired of looking at that janky storage flip-up cover!!!

The 06 screen is identical to the 05 screen as far as i know. The wiring for the DVD control unit is different for the 06 compared to previous years. So you cannot just take the DVD unit from a 06 and put it into an 05. The harness connectors are different. But I'm 90% sure that the screens are identical.

There is still hope. Although the startup screen is stored inside the DVD control unit, there might be a way to modify the firmware upgrade CD so that a new Startup Screen is downloaded into the unit. For my setup, the startup is controlled by the unit alone.

Yeah, sorry no pictures for now. I didnt expect so many people to be interested in this. I thot taking pictures would be more time wasting than helpful. I guess i was wrong. But like i said earlier, i'll probably take apart everything again soon and i'll be sure to take pics this time.

The pop up mechanism of the screen is controlled by the screen alone. There is a board and a motor inside the screen towards the top cover. There are 5 wires that goes into this board for which are to be connected to: accessory power, ignition power, constant power, DVD unit, and ground. The screen will work with any video source that utilizes RGB and the pop up mechanism will work also.
