Is it possible you think if someone is selling the whole center dash part of a G35 coupe...like the center dash area,HU,A/C controls,Navi controls, monitor, dvd unit and all???Could that just be hooked up and no cutting wires at all??I seen a few guys on Craigslist selling a setup like that and just wondering if I could buy that and just plug it up????

i bought the whole set up off of craigslist also... an 05 g coupe with navigation and all but you would need to either tap into the wires or find the wire harness with it....

Nav doesnt work

I have 04 G35 sedan. It was factory installed. My DVD drive has gone bad. Is this any DVD drive or do I have to buy one from infiniti itself?

I have been trying to remove the center box , so that I can look at the DVD drive, whether or not I can install another one. I 'm having a hard time removing it. Any help is appreciated on instructions for removing DVD drive.

Thanks.

Prathab

The DVD-rom contains the processor and video driver for the RGB screen. You will need an Infiniti DVD-rom to maintain the OEM navigation.

this thread has been dead for a while so might as well bump it. any word on a DIY yet lilsnoozer? How hard is it to install just the motorized LCD screen so that i can hook it up to a nav gps module unit? I spoke to a stereo shop and they said it was very complicated and difficult

I'm about to buy a 2007 unit for my 2005 g35x. I do not have the bose system, is this still possible and also, the hu looks like it is the same as mine, does anyone know if this will work and also has anyone put together a diy for this?

Sorry i havent been visiting this thread, to answer your question, the HU does not matter. The "bose" headunit and "nonbose" are identical.

The Bose and non-Bose HUs may be essentially the same for this project, but they are not the same HU. The main difference is that the non-Bose HU has an internal amp and the Bose HU requires the external Bose amp.

my CD changed jammed the other day, and they said the whole center piece needs to be removed. i'd really like to replace it with one with nav. should i look for a specific model number for the entire center thing for my 06 sedan?
