i like how ur going to sound proof it. I didnt bother doing it but i have to now cuz the trunk lid rattles like a bitch. same with the rear doors. i got a quote of under $200 to get the rattlin fix
You can DEFINITELY find the same quality IF NOT BETTER then going the JL route

the price sounds about right...if you want to pay retail...like the other forum members said check around on e-bay you'll find some good deals and save yourself some cash in the process

the priecf sounds about right to be honest, if they can do a good job then its about right...
i can definetly do a set up around the same cost that would sound nad look better, but for a normal retail store its not bad
where are you located?
this G35 i am currently doing will porbably sound and look a bit better than what you will be running and total cost is about the same as what you got quoted

The worst feeling is when you get ripped off(especialy when you dont know any of this stuff, I'm trying to learn though) and I just want to assure myself that I dont. I'm located in San Diego. I've looked in ebay and did see the speakers cheaper but they dont have any warranty like the shop does. 4.5k is alot of money and I dont wantto make a mistake. 16psibrick, by making it sound better do you mean you would get me better quality speakers?

i think its a good price considering ur getting a custom box done and the alarm installed..
i got a quote for way more then u did.. but im not running jl... and not going with no custom box..
best bet is to shop around as every1 has mentioned...

by better i mean it will sound better through better speakers, and other equipment, and by looking better i mean prolly a more custom and cleaner set up.
but again, the MOST IMPORTANT thing is the job is done correctly, if a quality install job, nothing fancy is performed, then 4500 is about right, if its a hack job...then....
i have done several cars int eh 4500 dollar budget range that honnestly, IMO, would really be superior in sound qualityto the set up you mentioned...but again, i am empahsizing that i am a ltitle cheaper than most normal shops
here are a few examples of some installs i have done in that range: and the price includes all equipment, all wiring and materials, all labor:

tis one is a little more but it does contain a avic-Z1

Too much is a vague, very vague question. It's only too much if you don't have it to spend or if it is not properly installed. I spent more than that but it was in my comfort zone. I was familiar with my shop & installer having had a few cars done there before. I suggest you have the shop show you some of their work, talk to a few of their clients before you commit. In general, that price is fair for the equipment you listed.
