Grommets in MDF
I've always used grommets that were designed for metal. You have to break out the little clips that are there to hold them in the metal, but they work really well. I'm sure partsexpress.com sells them.

What section in home depot? I was looking in Lowes last weekend and all they had was grommets used for sheet metal or firewall thickness. I couldn't find anything that was made for 3/4" thick material.
16psibrick, the stuff on that website is what I need, but I wish they had various inner diameters that were larger.

Use the sheet metal ones. When drilling in to wood you can slightly undersize the hole, making them press fit. Also, since you are just going through wood they are for looks only, so it isn't critical that they snap in to place.
