Aftermarket Nav
Aftermarket Nav
Cost-no-object, who makes the best aftermarket DVD based nav. system? It will need to have some sort of DIN flip out screen, and perhaps a seperate DVD deck for the nav disk. My G already has the nav, which I am quite happy with; this unit will be for a $500,000+ fire engine for which I am writing a specification.

Re: Aftermarket Nav
Look at the Kenwood KNA-DV3100 Nav unit and the Kenwood KVT-911DVD monitor. The monitor flips out and has AM/FM/Tv/DVD and a touchscreen. The 3100 is a perfect mate and has several viewing options, etc. In my opinion it is the best you can buy. Total cost for both around $2800-$3000 total.
Re: Aftermarket Nav
Kenwood is coming out with a new model next year, the KVT-915DVD. I believe it will be 7" vs the current 6.5". It will also have MP3 playback capability which the KVT-911DVD does not.
Also look into the Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD (Monitor/DVD player and more) and the AVIC-80DVD (navigation). Both can be had for $2600 shipped at 6thAve.com (authorized dealer).
these are the only "name-brand" touchscreen dvd player/nav system you can get. There is also eclipse, nakamichi, alpine, etc. but for what you are looking for, the Kenwood and Pioneer are your best bet.
