I just picked up an 05 Sedan with the BOSE HU. I am trying to plan a stereo install/upgrade path, but am finding lots of conflicting info about what size speakers currently exist in the sedan. Can someone please sum it up for me?
When I replace the speakers, I will most likely put new components in the stock locations. It would be great to know what fits in each.
Also, I looked but can't find the stock AMP in my sedan. I saw some pics showing stock amp located next to spare tire. but now in my car, it is all trunk sheet metal around the spare.
I want to do a custom sub install in the spare tire well, and need to find room for the amp. I need my trunk as I need to put golf clubs in it frequently.
Thanks
Andrew

6.5 inch components in front doors, 6.5 inch coax in rear doors.
The Bose amp in the sedan is in the trunk under the rear window. The coupe's Bose amp is to the left of the spare tire.
Amp placement is limited in the sedan if you want to keep the most available room and use the pass through in the rear seat. I mounted my amp on the floor of the trunk at the rear seat and built an MDF cover for it that is carpeted. It's protected from anything I throw on the trunk.
www.4080enclosures.com has a nice fiberglass enclosure for the sedan.

I am thinking Infinity Kappa's (2 Ohm) front and back. Components up front and coax in rear. This will be my first change. Then I want to think about a sub. I am not sure yet if I want to replace the Bose HU, so I can do speakers and sub, with teh Bose, and reuse them if/when I replace the HU.
I like the look of the 4080's but I need to fit 2 sets of golf clubs in my trunk. So they are out for sure. I am thinking either a zenclosure with a single offset 10" sub, with amp mounted beside it. I have no need for the pass through.
Alternatively, if I can find someone in central florida (preferably east coast) that can do a decent job on building a custom enclosure in the spare tire well, I would do that. I saw one on one of the forums (done by Bing I think) where the sub enclosure was sort of 1/4 moon shaped, with space in front of it for the amp. With cover, you could put the normal trunk carpet down and have no idea that there was a sub under there. That would be perfect for me.

I'm not sure if I could recommend the Infiniti Kappa components or not. I ran them for several months, so I have a good feel on their sound quality. The highs are very crisp and good for rap music, due to their metal dome tweeters (silk dome tweeters are more "natural" but its really a preference thing).
However, I found their midbass to be pretty lacking, even in a sound dampened environment. I never fiberglassed them their own little "enclosures" to test their performance in that type of an environment, so I couldn't comment on that. Midrange was okay, but I felt as though the response was not even from 1khz-3khz, although that could be vehical related.
If you are looking for a quick drop in solution that doesn't cost too much you will probably be fairly happy with them, but if your somewhat of an audiophile, you will probably be disappointed because they were pretty peaky in my experiences with them.
I did get mine for $40 shipped though, so its all good
