My horn went out!

I had my oil changed at Nissan last week... on my way in, my horn worked fine, on my way home, it sounded all high-pitched and ****ed up. Obviously, they had to remove a part of the undercarriage to change my oil, which is the same general region as the horn. But they claim there is nothing they would've done that would have had any way to compromise the horn. They took a look at it and said the electricity is geting there fine, but one of my two horns went out and just needs to be replaced.

My car has about 50k miles on it. Do horns just "go out?" And is it just a coincidence?

The manager said the horn costs $88, and they can get dealer pricing on it for $70. He offered to get me the horn at the discounted price and install it for free.

I obviously can't prove they ****ed it up, but the timing seems suspicious. Did they probably **** it up, and should I try to get them to replace it for free?

Or did my horn probably just "go out"... and since there's no way to prove that they did it, should I accept his offer as being pretty generous (since labor alone is $80/hr)?

I'd love your thoughts. Educated perspectives, especially.

The horns aren't even close to the drain plug for your oil. They have a plug going to each one and the wires go up, not down so I can't see how they could've messed up a horn.

I recommend replacing both of your horns with the Z sport horns. They sound a lot better and they're cheaper than what the dealer wants you to pay. You can easily install these yourself as well.

One of two horns must have been unplugged. Check the connection.

I was serious when I said replace them with Z horns. They sound similar to the Ferrari horns and take 15-30 minutes to install.
