Planning a new system in a 07 G35x
Hi,
I just bought a 07 G35x with the Infiniti Studio on Wheels by Bose system. I went to my local car audio guy and this is what we came up with for a SQ system, what do you think?
Head Unit: Stock
Front Speakers: DLS Iridium 6.3 running active
Front Amp: Zapco DC Reference 650.6
Sub: (2) JL Audio 12W6V2
Sub Amp: Zapco DC Reference 1100.1
They said they're gonna bypass the factory amp, take the signal straight from the head unit. Also, they're dumping the center and rear speakers. Because I don't have enough money to do the whole system, I'm doing the subs and mono amp first, so I still have time to choose front components. They're building a custom box that takes up about a foot of trunk space. They're also removing the factory sub to let the bass enter the cabin through there. They mentioned going with a DQL-8 from Audio Control later when I decide to do the whole system. I don't if that's necessary being that the Zapco amp have pretty powerful processors in them already. With this car it probably isn't necessary to go with any OEM integration processor because they're getting a flat signal from the head unit, all of the factory system EQing was done in the Bose amp. We're taking the Studio on Wheels system and turning it into a 2.1 system.
What do y'all think?
