Replace System / Add sub/amp Combo?
I'm confused, and don't know what to do. My budget is 1000~$1500 including installation.
I currently have the Avic Z1 hooked up to the Bose, and I'm not sure if the setup was done correctly because I hear hissing sounds. I was told that this would have to be looked into and maybe some adjustments need to be made (if the previous installers didn't screw it all up).
I want to get a sub in there, and was looking at the JL Audio ones as I hear they are the best. Seems like it costs a lot to get JL stuff, and my installer recommended to go with Memphis stuff. At first I was looking at the JL-10W6v2, and am now thinking if that's too much power? I don't really like blasting my music or anything, but I just like it to sound nice. I'm not an audiophile or anything. Currently, there is something missing in the Bose system and the hissing is just annoying.
JL also provides a stealth box preloaded with 10W1v2-4. Anyone running this? Seems like that doesn't have much power at all? If I am putting money into it, I want it to show that I put that much money into it.
As far as the Memphis goes, I was recommended to go with the M3 10" Sub.
The amps (if I go with JL) I'd stick with the JL 500/1 and if I go with the Memphis the MCD-500. Do I really need 500Watts?
Should I downgrade my sub? HOw much of a difference is it?
Would you guys recommend that I should go change the speakers out as well? If with the Memphis, I'd have to change the MCD-500 to the MCH-600 (5 Channel). For a whole system replacement, I don't think JL is an option because of cost, especially with the XR series.
My other option is not to even bother doing anything, except the bluetooth install, since the Avic Z1 sucks at Bluetooth (i'm getting that removed).
I would rather get everything done at once, so money isn't the issue, but I just don't want to spend over $1500. Ideally I would only like to spend a $1000 and get what I want. What would you guys recommend? Don't forget, the 4080 box costs $300 by itself.
Ahhhh...help!

What you really need to do is junk the Bose amp and replace it with a JL 500/5, or something similar. Then replace the other speakers. Don't bother replacing the 6x9's. The Bose amp is the weak link in the system.
The JL 10w6 isn't too powerful because it doesn't generate any power. It will only do what the radio and amp tell it to do, as controlled by your finger on the volume ****.
I use a JL 500/5 and a 10w7 in a 4080 box.
