Okay guys I got good news and bad news

I just installed by sub and amp (8w7 w/ 500/1 JL Audio amp) and it sounds incredible. Who knew an 8 inch sub could sound this good, not me...
Anyway I notice that when I turn my volume level up the car starts to hesitate. Like when I press the gas I feel it sorta hesitate and then go. It doesn't drive freely. Do you think that the load is too much on the car??? I notice the dome lights blinking when the volume is up...Any ideas as I m terriblely curious at this point in time...
I m thinkin I need a power cap

Check to make sure all your system is up and healthy.

Yeah capacitor is the first thing you should consider. if that still doesn't work, then maybe u will need a higher current alternator.

I think the cap should fix the problem.

i have a 10w7 on a 500/1 and can turn it all the way up and my car never hesitates, of course i have an aftermarket HU so that might make a difference.

get a cap first. If that doesnt work, change your battery to an optima yellow top. If that still doesnt work, then look into the alt., but you wont need to go that far considering the amount of power you are running.

 

JL100/1 JL450/4, 2 JL12W6, 2 1.2 caps 1 optima yellow top.Mine shifts hard and hesitates also. I have been checking on a bigger alternator. That is what I been told is the problem.
