Re: GROUP BUY: Navigation Parts

A computer would be nice... so what exactly are we buying? The housing and motor and stuff to hold the screen?

Thanks - Joey Avino

Ok, here's the million dollar question. $650 for the housing stuff. How much for the computer? How much for the screen? How much for the instillation?

Re: GROUP BUY: Navigation Parts

I bought a touch screen 7" for $380. Built the computer for $300. It's small enought that I think I might be able to fit it in the cubby above the glove box. Of course it will require some major modification for it to fit, but I think it can. It can also go under the drivers seat. If I spent more money, I could have gotten a fully capable computer that could fit in the rear passenger center cubby. Pricing isn't over yet. Still need to spend ~$200 for a power supply. Although you could go the ghetto route and just buy a $50 invertor. But again... that's ghetto. After that, you need to buy all the GPS stuff. Pricing varies depending on what software you get. But to give you an idea, CoPilot is $350 for the whole package.

Re: GROUP BUY: Navigation Parts

did any of you guys receive and/or install your screens yet?
I'm very interested to see how this works out. especially if you managed to fit the Xenarc 7" touch screen into there.

Re: GROUP BUY: Navigation Parts

I went to the shop and they said they could install the Pionneer 6.5" Touchscreen AVD-W6210 with factory mechanism($529) and Power supply box($308.35) plus the filter and finisher n ish...all they have to do is remove the Pionneer frame. Im gettin this setup with the Pionner dvd-rom navi in upper glove comportment just like the factory style. much cheaper to all the other sh.it

Re: GROUP BUY: Navigation Parts

My Opus Power supply came in today and my screen is coming in on monday. I bought an open panel screen but from what I'm hearing the guts of the screen I bought are a Xenarc TSV. So if this fits then the Xenarc screens should fit into the lcd finisher. I was told by ruben that my OEM parts are coming in Mid-Feb. So once all that is in I should get started on my install and I'm a college student so it will take me a while. I'll keep everyone posted. I did start some work on my car and took some pics so I'll make a website with all the info in the end.

Re: GROUP BUY: Navigation Parts

Is it possible to get the OEM screen as well and OEM navigation and hook it up exactly as it would have been if the whole thing was oem.

The stock navigation on the screen (if you don't use the navigation) has displays for other things for the car
