Re: navi screen size

The actual screen is 6.5" corner to corner. There is also a black border around the display that's another .25" on each side, then you reach the silver housing. So it's more like 7".

Re: navi screen size

I am about to install a custom car pc inot the "nav pocket" and a Liliput (similar to Xenarc ) 7" XGA monitor into the "display pocket" . I really just want to remove the "lid".
I don't have a factory nav , and its a G35C.
Is there a way to remove it without removing the entire center facia , or is it screwed in from the back? The service manual is unclear how this lid mounts to the facia. Since you added a display of similar dimnesion,. I figure , you have had it all apart.
Thanx.

Re: navi screen size

You have to remove the dash to get to the lid. If you're installing a car pc anyways, you might as well get some practice removing/installing the dash. Takes me about 5-10 minutes to get the center section with the radio and ac out. The pocket and lid assembly is screwed in from the inside. The lid can be removed from the pocket, there are spring loaded pegs on either side of the lid that attaches it to the pocket.

None that I know of without modifying the stock monitor housing. Although, I don't know about the size specs of the Xenarc or Lilliput if you disassemble them. The digitallww.com one doesn't fit without messing with the stock housing.
