Converting XM to Sirius: Need Help

I took a look at the current XM tuner set up and I only see 2 plugs. One is colored in brown & yellow (I believe it's the antenna), while the other is the white A16 (I believe it's N-BUS).
This picture below is a sirius tuner with two female plug, can anyone explain why there are two plugs? I would assume one is the A16 prewired and what's the other one for? Thanks

will my 03 XM prewired be compatible with 05 sirius tuner?

Your car is compatible with the Sirius tuner. you will only use one of the white plugs. Your XM unit has the single antenna input. My understanding is that the newer Sirius units also have the single antenna input, so you just plug your antenna inthere. The older Sirius units have the double antenna inputs, like suicidesam's pics show. If you get the older style unit, you'll just need an antenna splitter, which is also shown.

I thought XM and Sirius antenna have different frequency so they're not interchangeable?
Also, how are mine single antenna input? Mine is shown exactly in the picture that I have a brown and a yellow input, then it goes out to the antenna.

I only see a single antenna input in your picture. If you have the double inputs, then you may already have an antenna splitter.

Techinically, the XM and Sirius antennas are on different frequencies, but I'm using an old style XM car antenna at home with my Sirius boombox and it works better than the Sirius antenna that came with it.

If you want, you can just get a Sirius antenna too. The answer to your main question though is that your car will work with the Sirius box even though you have has XM.

The xm antenna WILL work with the sirius unit. It won't just slide on but all you have to do is shave off the tab on the sirius unit and the xm antenna will slide right on. We do that here at work all the time

the picture I posted is the sirius unit I'm planing on getting. But looking at my current XM tuner, I see two wires as suicidesam has posted. I guess I need an antenna splitter... or maybe a new antenna.

Is there two wires coming from the antenna or two wires going into the sat. box? Your car could have a newer single wire antenna with the splitter to go into the tuner box. If it just has the splitter then you will be fine with the antenna you have. If not then yeah you'll need a new antenna

With XM and Sirius combining this year is it that much of a necessity to switch everything out? Why not wait.
