2006 Sedan...where to TAP RCA for 500/1??

I've searched and searched...to no avail. Lots of info on the coupe install, however could find anything specific to sedan.

Where exactly should I splice a set of twisted RCA's to feed my 500/1 sub amp. It's currently getting signal from the two-wire harness directly at the subwoofer, but I'm told this is improper, as it's "after the bose amp".

Could somebody please clarify where a Sedan owner needs to tap before the Bose amp for a sub signal? Wire color/location, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

It's basically the same operation as a coupe, except that the Bose amp is located under the rear window in the trunk, behind the liner.

Same as the coupe? The coupe does not have a dedicated subwoofer with it's own amplifier. I guess I don't see the similarity.

The coupe has two tweeters and two woofers in the front, same as the sedan. The coupe has two rear side panel speakers, much like the rear door speakers in the sedan. The coupe has two rear deck speakers, these are instead of the rear subwoofer in the sedan. That's pretty similar.

FL- Black

FR+ Green
FR- Red

LR+ Brown
LR- Yellow

RR+ Blue
RR- Pink

That should get you started. With a voltmeter and the fade/balance controls you should be able to locate any wires you need regardless.

Thanks.

I guess, my question is, do I tap into the rear speaker wires to feed my 500/1 for the my sub?

Front or rear, it doesn't matter. And seeing as how you are using a 500/1 you don't need to use a LOC, so good call on using the twisted RCAs.

Perfect, thank you. I wasn't sure if tapping the rear speaker would effect the signal (frequency range) sent to the amp/sub.

I've already tapped the fronts for my 300/2.

I would tap into the rear speakers so you can use the fader to help adjust the bass level relative to the front speakers, even with the JL bass ****.

+1, use the rear speakers. That should give you the range you need.
