Issues with Bose HU for the millionth time

Before you start to flame, yes I have used to search button and spent 2 hours and 15 minutes looking for the answer to my question but I have yet to find it.

I have a stock 04 Coupe with Bose and recently I started to hear my driver side speaker start to cut on and off. When I searched I noticed TONS of people had this problem and ended up buying a new DD head unit or replacing the Bose head unit itself. I like the look of factory Bose and would like to keep it, but I refuse to shell out $$$ for a new Bose.

At first, I thought it was the speaker that was malfunctioning and after searching I found out it was the head unit.

Question : Is there a way to fix it or is it screwed beyond repair?

If I accelerate, the speakers fine. If I brake hard, the speaker goes dead.

Blose FTL.

Thanks for any kind of input!!!

If you're still under warranty, have it replaced. If you're out of warranty, search the marketplace here on Driver and look for someone selling an 03-04 Bose HU.

^^^ +1

I have an 04 too. Left speaker issue. It was under warranty and the dealer replaced it for me without any hassle. They already knew about the problem and suggested replacing it because it was free for me.

I have the same problem, it's really irritating. What is it about the headunit, I assumed that it would be the connection from the headunit, as opposed to an internal problem. Nonetheless I am taking mine to dealership next week because I need normal music and my friends think i'm crazy when I use the old school ghetto fix by hitting the side of the center console to make the speaker come back.
