I would be interested in that too. Seems like this would be a bit better than inside the spare tire. Maybe I will take a look at that way, although I would probably have to build a shelf back there for the amp to hold it in place, or clamps or something. I don't know.

dude why are you stuck on mounting it upside down make some brackets out of some metal strips that you can get at home depot for like 3 dollars and mount the amp the right way. As stated heat rises thats why the board is the lowest point on the amp and the heat sinks (the black part on the side of you amp )are what move the heat up and out. So if you mount it upside down with your heat sinks facing down and heat can only rise ,,, what happens ? Your amp will keep turning off untill one day it just blows and youll mount the amp the same way and it will be a cycle untill the world ends lol

mine is mounted on top of the bose bracket, I modified the black trunk support at the previous poster mentioned. I have been running it like this for over a year now with awesome success. A razor blade and some industrial strength velcro works wonders. And I'm running a 500/5... much bigger beast to fit.

Which if I remember correctly is the same chassis as a 1000/1.

Any pics by chance of the install showing the cutout?

how do you like the dls? My friend has a set of iridium 6.5" components, I've considered buying them from him a few times.

This shows the side "window" I cutout so that the corner of the 500/5 can stick out. Other than that, if you flip the black support upside down you'll see plastic "fins" that come down, I had to remove those so the top of the amp sits flush against the top of the support.

I'll try and take some more pictures this weekend.

I had the same concerns, but given the low power level of the 250/1, I decided to just give it a try. I've yet to have the amp turn off on me, even in scorching summer temperatures.
