Has anyone done this swap? I'm considering it, but I was wondering if you could do a direct swap using the same plug instead of rewiring? Can anyone give any insight as to if the plugs are the same or is the more required for the 205?

Why? Besides Blackbird II there isn't much difference between the two.

 

being able to dock the BM200 inside the W205 is a big diff and cool to boot.

What year is your G? What did you use for the trim piece?

 

The Nav behind the screen is my main reason for the swap out, I believe everthing else is pretty much the same except fpr a few more hard buttons on the front.

I have an 04. I used the trim piece that came with the HU. It sit back a lil so you can see a small gap aroround the top and side and a lil bigger gap at the bottom, but I figure it gives it room to move when changing disc.

 

I thought this was out already, but I called Alpine yesterday and they said it won't be out for about another month.

 

Yeah, I've been tracking it too. Just get the W205 and wait for the BM200 unit to be released or hold off until you can demo the BM200.

 

I actually get my w205 tomarrow. I'll just have to wait on the BB2. Hopefully its way more improved over the first version.
