PAC SWI install questions...for those who've done it!
Okay so here I am a full year after purchasing my SWI-ECL and I'm finally ready to try and install the damn thing. I never was able to find someone to help me with this and I'm tired of looking at the SWI-ECL sitting on my desk.
So before I go in I have a few quick questions from the instructions I got on the link below that I was hoping you guys could clear up for me:
https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics/94345-pac-swi-x.html
1. When I'm told to split the white wire, does that mean tap into it and put a resistor on each segment? I'm not exactly sure what's meant by "splitting" the wire...
2. And then I'm told to ground pin 25 in the harness. So I'll be grounding two wires - pin 25 from the harness and the black one from the PAC device, right?
3. And where should I ground them to? I'm not an expert with electricity but I can follow instructions well!
4. I never did find a DIY to take apart my dash so I could get back there. Is there somewhere else I can check for more help on this? Maybe the factory service manual?
Thanks in advance all,
B

1. I forget what I did and don't have the instructions in front of me.
2. You will ground pin 25 and hte black wire coming out of the plastic PAC box.
3. Ground them to any screw going into a metal part of the car.
4. See here for instructions to take the dash apart. http://g35ipod.com/installHW.php?skin=1

If you check the link at the top of this thread, you'll go to another thread that has some pretty detailed instructions about the PAC-SWI installation fron Inno. In those instructions he mentions splitting the white wire and putting one resistor on one side, then the other resistor on the other side of the white wire. Maybe he's just explaining the inline resistor differently than you.
What'd you have to do to get the two resistors attached to the white wire so you could connect both to the OEM wiring harness?
Thanks,
B

Okay, guys...so I installed the SWI-ECL today. All was working well except I could not get the Track Down function working. Volume up/down, Mode/Power, and Track Up all work fine. Has anyone had any issues with this adapter and the Track Down function on an Eclipse head unit? If not, I'll have to call PAC....
I also noticed my Sirius satellite radio stopped working after I was done. I pulled everything apart and rechecked all the Sirius connections. They looked okay but I pushed them in anyway. Then I thought maybe I needed to reset the head unit after tightening the connections so I disconnected the negative battery terminal and reconnected. No dice, Sirius still not working. And then the volume and track buttons stopped working on the steering wheel too. The mode/power still work just not the others.
So there you have it. All in all it wasn't a very difficult install. But now I need to figure out the concerns above. Oh well, not the smoothest job but a good learning experience nonetheless.
You guys have any advice for fixing the probs above?

Well after driving the car this morning, the SWI is working fine. Not sure what happened last night...
But the track down button is still not programmable. Even PAC and Eclipse said it should be the fifth programmable setting - but it's not working for me. Guess I'll just keep plugging. Do you guys have any experience with the SWI-ECL and Eclipse head units (esp. the AVN5435)?
As for the Sirius, my only option there is get a new tuner from Circuit City and use parts from that kit to troubleshoot. I had tried contacting Sirius and Eclipse and both are not offering much help.
