Double Din Setup Help

I have a 2003 G35 Coupe Premium Package with Bose OEM radio with no Navi. I'm planning on installing an Alpine W205 with a rear view camera. I've purchased the wire harness for the radio but now I'm not sure if I got the right one. I read somewhere that if I have the Bose system the wire harness is different because of the speakers amp. Can someone clear this up for me. I also have the PAC steering wheel intergration unit, has someone use this with the W205 radio? Another question I have is after I buy the double din dask kit with the ac controller, I don't care about having the dual climate control can I just leave it like it is without having to mess around taking the button off the factory radio. Also do I need a bracket with the double din kit? I'm looking into installing a rear view camera with this HU, can anyone point me in the right direction. I read about rear view camera with night vision, anyone have one installed and how good is it. So what I'm asking is what do I need to buy to finish this project and what else do I need. Any information will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Well, let's start from the top: First off you will need the Nissan stereo adapter, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0r2RVO7...00&I=120707550 . If that is the same one you have, than great. Next you will need to get the Nissan antenna adapter as well, just do a search and you can find it. And as far as the dual climate control goes, you'll be fine, just make sure you leave the setting on driver/passenger BEFORE you disconnect the factory AC controller, otherwise you will be stuck only being able to change one part of the dual system. I'm not really sure about the backup camera as I feel they are unnecessary. Also the steering wheel control seems pretty solid because Alpine states the unit is "ready" so you shouldn't have any compatibility issues with it.
good luck

Thanks, I have the Nissan Stereo adapter and the Nissan antenna adapter so I should be good there, but do I need to buy the Double Din (Bracket), I dont have the factory Navi. When I checked on Grubbsperformace.com they sell the double din, ac controller and the bracket. But I read somewhere that it wasn't need but not sure what year the car was that didn't need the bracket.

You do NOT need the bracket as there is already one that your OEM radio is mounted on. As far as the dual button, it only takes an extra 5 minutes to un solder the botton and put it on the new AC controller. Do you plan on doing anything else to your system or are you just changing the HU? If you are thinking of putting an amp in, I'd do it now while you have the dash all apart. Trust me, you're entering an area that won't stop until you have a full system (Well, atleast thats what happened to me. Replaced the amp and speakers, which lead to a new headunit, which lead to new subs, which then lead to new amps which then lead to fiberglass sub boxes all over the course of two years)

I was just planning on just changing the HU for now, but I see what you're saying. Thanks again, so I don't have to buy the bracket, nice.

The only vaccine I have seen for the Car Stereo Virus is the wallet, and I have seen that not even be an effective cure.

What about the speaker harness. I see that there are some with the RCA jack on them, not sure if my stock radio uses this type of harness, anyone know for sure?

If you do not currently have dual climate control can you add the button to the new ac controller when you do a DD conversion?

Does anyone know if this is possible????

Soldering a dual climate control button on to the new board for a DD install on a car that does not have dual climate control originally.

The wire harnesses are the same for the Bose and non-Bose. Nissan has been kind enough to use the same connectors since about 1985.

However, you may have issues running speaker level signals from the Alpine HU if you connect the wire harnesses as the instructions tell you since the Bose amp received a 2 volt or so signal from the OEM HU. You may need some type of line converter to step down the signal level. There are some manufacturers that make these, but I've never done that setup, so I don't know which ones to use. I find it to be a better solution to replace the Bose amp.

I don't know if that will work or not. It might be that simple but you won't have the dual climate button cover and I don't know offhand if any of the other buttons are the same size.

Guys, I know this is probably a stupid and redundant question, but since everyone and their mother seems to have the climate control units back-ordered till the second coming...

Currently, I have the stock non-satellite Bose system and want to install the Pioneer Avic D3

If I do NOT have a Dual Climate control unit in my '03 sedan, do I need the JDM climate control unit or can I just buy the finisher for my DD conversion?

Also, just to confirm, can I also avoid the JDM bracket? Will the stock bracket work ok?

Sorry for the stupid, repetitive questions!!!

Everyone that wants to do a double DIN conversion needs the AC controller, regardless of whether they have dual climate or not, or the Bose or not. You do not need the bracket.

PM sent...I'm doing the same thing to my G right now..I got the parts from a forum member on here who has a hook up overseas..Plus he got the controller and finisher to match my willow interior. waiting on the A/C controller already got the other stuff painted. Guess I will have to install all this in Key West. Hope they have a stereo shop..

Good luck to you..
