I was traveling last week and my CD Player Quit! It is a 2004 Sedan non-nav unit with 50K miles. All I get now is a "Check Disk" error on the display. I have tried to reset the unit (read as power off) and everything works except the CD Player. Has anyone else had this problem. I have checked the posts and all I can find is head unit faults. Could this be one of those?

if you are out of warranty,

spend about 280$ for the oem double din parts, and get an aftermarket headunit.

or find a good bose unit off ebay.

the dealership will rape you on costs ($1500+).

If you are in warranty:

the dealership will replace it for free.

 

at 50k you should be covered. Unless you got the extended warranty...60k is when the warranty ends...i've gotten that same error at 56k and dealer replaced it with no prob!

 

Actually.. if you want to just replace with the same type of unit you have...

it can be done for not that much...
