6.5 inch Touchscreen Available?

Hi Everyone, this is my first post on this forum--which really motivated to build my carputer for my new G35 Sedan bought last month. I've been reading the forums since last 2 weeks to avoid redundant questions.

1) I would like to put a screen inside the cubby and hide it when not in use (just like in a recent post) However, I want a touchscreen and I cannot seem to find any affordable 6.5" Touchscreen. Does anyone has a source or can point me to write direction. (I've seen numerous 7", but they won't fit in cubby)

Also, if I can't find one...how hard would it be to get a regular 6.5" and then add the Touchscreen module.

2) Also, I've seen that Slip DVD rom has been preferred choice for carputers...but I couldn't find a link to manufacturer. I've searched google.com and other places but couldn't find a very slim external/internal dvd rom. Any suggestions would help...

Lastly, thanks to the g35 community for great information here in forums...

Best price for an external DVD slim ROM (USB) can be found here. I bought one and it works fine.

You will need to run 5V power to it. I provided a fused tap from my OPUS 90W Power Supply for this. Some more expensive units claim to get direct USB power ;however, they useually will step down in speed in this mode.

I mounted mine on the passenger side below the glove box to the far right, since I don't need to access it while driving, just for upgrades etc. Also since watching DVDs in the front seat while driving is becoming illegal in some states, I don't even cart it around most of the time.

so this drive requires external power?

you should probably consider this one instead, it is not nessary to use the power adapter.

fixed url

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...&Sku=S228-1018

just to warn you... tigerdirect is one of the crappiest stores on the internet.

And I am not nearly the only one out there that thinks so.

Also, I doubt this thing can operate at full speeds when you don't have it plugged in... otherwise it wouldn't even have the AC-Adapter included.

Twlight blue/Willow 6mt.
It's here
