Pioneer 6.5" Touchscreen AVD-W6210

Hi Everyone,
Great forum with great people. I'm new to this hobby and deciding on a screen. I found this Pioneer 6.5" Touchscreen AVD-W6210 on ebay for $299.99 Refurbished with $15 shipping.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3073352532

Has anyone used this. I couldn't find any reviews online, neither the website gives much details. Is this a good buy?

I can't get a 7" Xenarc or Lilliput since it won't fit in my cubby (G35 sedan), not sure if this would either at the moment. Also, Lilliput is like $270 + $35 shipping + $Duty (not sure how much)...

I definately think Pioneer would be more recognizable than lilliput...

anyone with suggestions, comments, Thanks in advance guys

What are you planning on using this for? If its for a computer I would definitly stay away from the pioneer, especially for that price. The resolution is gonna suck since it only has rca inputs and the touch screen functionality wont work since the connector isn't usb for a computer.

I think the xenarc is probably the best small 7" touchscreen around, I'm very impressed with the one I got. The lilliput is probably just as good... if you happen get a good one... I heard most of the ones you get in this country are actually refurbished so some may have slight ghosting or a dead pixel.

Check out http://www.digitalww.com for some other vga screens.

Thanks for the reply. I plan to use it in my G35 Sedan (Carputer). Okay, pioneer is out of questions since it doesn't have usb/serial touchscreen controller. Where else would I be able to get something between 6" and 6.5" touchscreen?
I want to do something similar to below post, but with a touchscreen. https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=

Thanks guys for help

Never ever buy a refurbished pioneer product...I bought a AVX-P7300DVD 7" motorized in dash screen with dvd player for my 99 Galant and it broke after the first week...pioneer wouldnt honor the 90 day warranty!

I work in the car audio/video business (shameless plug: Kustom Kar Sound, Phoenix, AZ) .. and some of the best screens in that size that I've seen has been Savv. Not sure about computer inputs, but definatly some of the best looking monitors out there. Then again, I'd just buy the dash kit, and go with an Alpine IVA-D901, but hey, thats a little pricey at $2200 retail.

Hopeful future owner of a G35 coupe ~

Patience. I have a replacement dash coming. All plastic. The xenarc 700 series will fit. I should be getting a prototype soon. Work and family are taking time, but it will be done shortly.

do you think the Xenarc screen is worth the money compared to the screens at http://www.digitalww.com/ ? based on the specs on thier page, it seems their Hitachi screens high brighter light output than the Xenarc?

did you get the ultra-bright upgrade for your screen?

Re: Pioneer 6.5" Touchscreen AVD-W6210

when you click on the pics of the Hitachi LCD, it comes up as LILLIPUT

Any comments on this brand? I know the LCD stuff is hitachi, and we'll be discarding a lot of the LILLIPUT stuff (assuming we're taking apart the case). Or are the two companies related?

Also that brightness for the Hitachi is almost definately without the touchscreen. Add the touchscreen in front of it, and that brightness will go right back down to approx 250.

Anyone know for sure if the hitachi one definately comes with touchscreen? Just seems too cheap to include it.. anyways, it's out of stock.

Also how about the panasonic one on that webpage. $380, same brightness as the $530 one, and it appears that the case is small as heck, so no need for custom enclosure thing... I think.

Anyone buy the panasonic one?

Twlight blue/Willow 6mt.

The lilliput looks nice, but it is another .25" taller. This makes mounting it more difficult. If someone could get the actually size less the frame, I would be greatfull. The panasonic looks nice as well and seems to have a smaller footprint.

The reason I chose the Xenarc is becuase of reputation. It seems to be great. The Lilliput is rumored to be a refurbish unit - I don't know though. Once the prototype is complete, I will see about selling the Xenarc screens at a lower price.

But, any information on the other screens would be great. I can always switch. I like the panasonic becuase there are no buttons to mount and this allows for a lower profile. Input?
