Question Problem with power window

My passenger side window is going crazy. When I open the door it rolls down a 1/4" like always but when I shut it it wont roll up. Then when I try and roll it up I have to beat on the door panel, and when I do that the window rolls down even while im hitting the button to make it go up. Finally when it goes about half way down it will roll up all the way. Any ideas? Is it a bad switch for the window or is it the motor? I can hear the actuator making the noise like it is being pressed but it wont do anything.

The G35 has had window motor/regulator issues since '03. This is nothing new. You didn't say what year yours is, but if it is an older one that is out of warranty you may be able to get this fixed under warranty since it is such a common problem.

I took mine (04) to the dealership and they just replaced the motor. If it's under warranty then don't dick with it, just take it in and they'll fix it. Mine kept rolling down a few inches after doing the auto-up.

Ha, it's not the tint, it's a poor design.

That's just like the dealer to try and blame a few ounces of window film on a faulty design.

Next thing we'll hear is that tire protectant throws off the alignment.
