Bose Amp = 1ohm?

I just got off the phone with a reputable audio installer in the Tampa Bay area (Stereorama) that was suggested from people here. I've set an appointment to have some Infiniti 2ohm speakers installed but he told me that the stock Bose amp in the g35 only outputs 1ohm. Is this true? I tend not to believe him because everything I've read so far says that it outputs 2ohm.

The Bose speakers have 2 ohm stamped on the back of them.

Thanks Gilley. I looked on the back of the front speakers and saw a "2" stamped on only one of them. The other has no stamp at all so I wasn't sure if that was the ohm rating or not.

The 6.5 infiniti fronts made a huge difference already. Hopefully the matching back 6x9s will also.

My speakers may have different markings than yours. I think I even measured it with an ohmmeter at 2 ohms.

2 ohm speakers should actually measure out at like 1.8 or so, right... seems measured resistance is always lower than rated, since resistance increases when the speaker is loaded...

or am I just making it up...

As long as your above the ohm load rated on the amp it wont hurt. You may or may not get the most power out of the amp depending on how its designed but as long as its loud enough for you then i wouldn't worry about it.

The rated ohm load is a nominal load. The actual load will depend on freq and even the enclosure.
