What is the function of the rear speaker

I have the premium package with bose system

The rear speaker at the back of the car does not make any sound , is it a sub woofer and is it suppose to make noise when the system is playing

As a result i see there is less noise at back compared to front

Do i need to see the dealer

That would be your subwoofer. Although its not much of a sub being that it's only 6.5"

Is it only for bass ... does it let out any sound

Why is the rear of the car having less sound than the front

So does the back of the car has only 2 speakers compared to 4 speakers at the front

no sir, 03-06 sedans with Bose have a 6.5" sub in the rear deck.

It doesnt let out sound, its just for bass. You have 1 speaker in each door of the car and 1 tweeter in each door by the A-pillar.

That means there should be

4 speakers
4 tweeters
1 subwooofer

is that correct. I dont remember seeing tweeters for rear door. where is it located actually ?

no, there are no tweeters for the rear doors. You have 4 mid-bass speakers (1 in each door) and 2 tweeters (high's, in the a-pillars) and 1 sub in the rear deck.

Tweeters in the rear would make no sense as the rear speakers are just for fill anyways.

Thanks ... does it appear to u that the back of the car should have had 2 more speakers for more sound ... this is how i noticed ... in our last road trip wife kept on asking me to increase the sound whereas the front of the car the sound was quite loud and she said that the sound was not that high at the rear, that got me to think whether theres something was wrong with the rear speakers.

Yesterday i put on the sound system and sat in rear of the car and felt that the sound was low compared to front

The sound is supposed to sound louder in the front of the car, its called staging. Because with most people you dont really have a full car all the time. It's just you, maybe one other person sitting up front with you, so you want most of the sound up front.

If you want a more consistant sound throughout, fade the speakers from a little to the rear. Like they said, the subwoofer is only for the lows.
