Do I have Satellite Radio???
Do I have Satellite Radio???
I have a new (to me) 2005 G35X. When I hit the radio button a couple times the satellite radio band comes up. Also, I have an antenna on the roof. So I was assuming that I had a satellite radio tuner installed. Although I can't seem to find where it would be installed in the trunk. When I tune the satellite radio to station 0, it gives me a "Radio ID", which I figured was further proof that I have a tuner. However, I can't tune to anything but station 0, and can't get the "preview" stations... Do I have a tuner???
If you're getting a radio ID, then yes the SAT tuner is installed. You're not getting any stations because you have to activate your service. You'll have to call in to XM or Sirius, which ever tuner you have. You can check the top of your antenna to see which tuner you have, usually their logo is imprinted on the antenna.
More Info
Thanks for the prompt reply! That's what I figured... The antenna was factory installed and doesn't say anything, so no indication of XM or Sirius. And I guess one last bit of info I left out, is that if I try to tune to a station other than 0, it automatically puts me back to 0??? And if I try to use a preset to get a station other than 0, it says "No Signal" and then again, goes back to channel 0. On channel 0 it keeps displaying the Radio ID...
