i guess there's only two in the coupes? or newer ones at least, in the sedan (late 2003 at least) there are three, one either side of the console and one in the armrest.

you can buy the sockets, i would run it off a relay from battery, switch by the accessory power (on with the car in acc or on), you can put a separate switch inline with the lead from the relay to the socket, if you desire, but wouldn't be nesc.

My 04 coupe has 3 power outlets which dropped to 2 for 05.

Look at this thread for the best way to power you PS2 via a direct power wire to the battery.

you can wire a couple more simply by tapping into the back of the original lighters. me personally i don't like clutter and wires hanging out, so stuff that will always stay plugged in (cell charger, radar detector, ipod charger, ac/dc inverter) i wired more outlets and hit them inside the dash, and have the connectors sticking out where i would need em (center console, dash window).

fairly easy to do, lemme kno if you want help on it, i just simply tapped into the harness to avoid wire splicing. just don't overload it, each cigarette lighter is rated at 15A, so on the safe side if you load as much as i do split it between both lighters (different wiring and fusing for each)... and cell chargers/ipod/radar are relatively low power so all those can go into one side

for your case, ps2 and radar detector will handle on one. you can wire directly to the battery, but that just overcomplicates the whole concept... i only say do that if you're doing a high power ac/dc inverter or something over 200w

If it's for a PS2, hardwire an invertor to the battery with a switch. Now you have concealed power to your PS2 and you have 110 in your car for anything else as well.
