When shopping for a new HU, is there anything I need to worry about to maintain compatibility? Or will all major brand HU work?

Anything will work... but if you plan on integrating it with the bose speakers/amp/etc, it's not going to work unless you get the double-din setup, and then get the separate A/C module. It will run you about $300 for those 2 parts. Then you can put whatever HU in there that you want. I suggest taking out the entire system though if you want it to sound good.... that's what I'll be doing once I get my G........ <waiting.....>
