Aftermarket NAV
I've bought a used 2004 G35 last february, and unfortunatly it didnt come with NAV. I wanted to get one, but so it looked like it came with it. I was wondering if this was possible:

can I install this on my car, and have it work like stock?
BTW Im in Canada and this is American, does that make a difference

it can be done, but you dont want to...
I also looked into this and found out that you have to change the whole main harness!!! yes the interior main harness! it take hours! days if your not familiar with electronis and the whole dashboard has to come out and on and on... dont do it, get the jdm DD and pick a aftermarket DD NAV unit... sorry to burst your bubbles...

I don't think a dealer would take the time to do the swap unless you paid them a handsome hourly rate. It would then be more cost effective to sell your car and buy one with nav built into it. My local Infiniti dealer's labor rate is somewhere around $100 an hour.
search the store at www.mp3car.com. they have a pop up screen that fits in the factory navi location. You could connect an aftermarket GPS unit like a Garmin black box for a lot less and have a semi stock setup.
But when your car'a warranty is up and the radio/AC board goes out, like so many do, it will then likely be more cost effective and practical (especially from an audio standpoint) to convert to a double DIN setup.
