I have the non-bose system in my G35 sedan. Is it necessary to put an EQ for better sound or can I just run my Alpine components, MTX 895 and sub for a good SQ. Thanks

 

Ideally, you shouldn't ever need an EQ if you have good equipment, good installation, and good tuning. But sometimes, especially in the car environment, you can use a few tweeks. Go ahead and install the stuff you have and then see if you need an improvement from there. EQs aren't mandatory; they're just bandaids for system deficiencies.

 

Just thought i would add that what Micah said was absolutely correct and very well put. I refuse to use an eq...but thats just me..
