I have a feeling that the integration required (ie installation difficulty) will prevent most people from going with the Stage 3 'keyless' version. This Stage 2 version isn't too bad to install, it works great, and won't keep you from driving the car if it fails.

Will there be a stage 3 version? I'd definitely be interested in that.

Thats the plan, but there is no guarentee. We haven't even started on it, so it will be a while before we even know if we will release it.

I'm not sure, I've never seen the keyless turn. It would probably work somewhat the same.

No, I am not the one that put one in a 350Z, but yes, there are only 2 of THESE in existance.

A few others have used the Altima button for start/stop, but there are only two KPtechnologies control units - the brains of the entire operation - in existance.

The KPtechnologies control unit was custom designed and programmed by KPtechnologies to integrate the Altima button with any car. The controller takes care of starting/stopping the car and controlling all the indicator lights so that all the lights work like they would in an Altima. The unit even has tach sense capability to automatically update the 'ON' status when key started (something NO one else has) and has the ability to drive the 'LOCK' LED off of an internal or external signal. The custom program also allows us to add safety features like time delays to the button so an accidental push won't start/stop the car.

I just got a shipment of 10 more Altima buttons in today. However, the Nissan guy told me that this may be it for a while, as there are only a few more left around the country. He is unsure when the next shipment from Japan will be here. I already have enough buttons (I think) for our beta testing program, so these 10 will be for the first 10 production modules.
Unlike the other people who used off the shelf parts and/or relays we built our control system from the ground up. We have a dedicated 8mhz processor that we coded ourselves - meaning we have total control to offer new features/firmware updates as this product matures. I honestly think it is safe to say that our unit is completely different then anything else that anyone else has been able to install.

The placement of the pushbutton would be up to the installer. There are typically good places to mount things like this in any car, you just have to be creative and check your depth twice.

It really depends on how long testing takes. I have a few more lines of code to finish up before we can start sending out the test units. It will be at least 6 weeks I'm guessing.
