Pushbutton start in an '04 Coupe!
KPtechnologies has been working on an aftermarket pushbutton start solution. This is the 2nd working test module successfully installed in an '04 coupe.
The system uses a pushbutton out of an '07 Nissan Altima matched with a custom built electronic controller. This module requires that the key be turned to the 'ON' position before it will start the car (retains all OEM security).
With the use of a sophisticated processor we were able to make all three LED indicators work perfectly on the module - LOCK, ACC, ON. The LOCK LED flashes with the OEM alarm indicator, but it can also be controlled internally with no external signal (for cars with no LED, or for people who want to simplify the installation). The ACC LED turns on when the key is in the ACC position. When the key is in the 'ON' position but the car isn't running the module flashes between the 'ACC' and 'ON' LEDs to indicate that it is ready to start the car. Once the car is started only the 'ON' LED is visible.

Here is a quick vid (~11meg AVI):

It integrated in to the G35 with minimal issues and took me about 3 hours total - that includes all the wiring, making a slight hardware and firmware modification, and mounting the button. I removed the lighter and had to dremel the opening a bit to make the pushbutton fit.

Not hating on your mod, but isn't the point of push button start that you can keep the key in your pocket/purse/whatever and just push the button when you hop in? What else does it really buy you?
