ha ha - someone's impatient. KP, i've got a clifford alarm on the way w/ remote start. For that unit, you still have to put the key in it and move to the ON position (kind of a PITA). Can you explain how your product might integrate with an aftermarkert alarm with remote start?

Very cool project and turned out very nice, but I have to ask. If you have to use your key and it has to be on the ON position before you press the button, wouldn't it be easier to just turn the key another 1/8 of a turn to start the engine and not deal with the button at all? Again, not taking anything away from you and your project, which ROCKS btw.

Well, with most push button start system its the same thing...Hondas, Nissan, etc...Same for Mclaren. The more advance push button uses the intelligent key but the problem with that system is if the battery dies or your cell phones messes up the signal you have no way to start your car.

In my G37 I have the key in my pocket, sit in the driver's seat, press the clutch and then push the button. The car starts.

That has a little more value because you don't have to dig for your key, you don't have to put it in anything, and you don't have the fob clanking against the dash while you drive.

I'm not sure what push start w/ the key in and turned to on buys you other than some pretty cool bling

I think most of these systems now have a little hardware key built into the intelligent key fob. If your battery dies or you have other problems, you can still extract the key and use it to start the car.

Our original plan was to make a completely keyless unit. This is a stepping stone. We wanted to make a minimally invasive module to prove functionality and reliability.

The keyless system poses quite a few drawbacks, the biggest being total integration in to the car. The module we have now has 9 wires to connect. The fully integrated unit will have over 20 I'm predicting. If this module fails your car is still drivable, if the full system fails you are stranded.

This product is designed for people who want the appearance and 'bling' of the push button system without all the hassle.

This module should interface with any alarm system/remote start without any issues at all.

This isn't really an issue on my car because I still need the keyfob to unlock the doors, so I already have the keys in my hand.

I want a test module to install too. I have the S2000 push button start on my RSX, so this should be just as easy to install. I think i would rather remove the hazard button and put the start button there though.
