Pix of new XM micro antenna...

installed on my dash.

Took me about 20 min. to remove the old one from the rear deck, install & route the wire. No dropouts whatsoever. BTW...this is Blitzsafe's micro antenna, Terk's will be out next month.

Re: Pix of new XM micro antenna...

looks nice. I have the stock XM antenna and have been wanting to rip that thing off since I got the car.

After peeling off the stock XM antenna, was there any damage or fading to the paint underneath?

Re: Pix of new XM micro antenna...

The old antenna was mounted on the rear deck (inside the car) w/ velcro but my reception went south after I tinted my windows.

You can order the micro here:

But you'll need one of these:
http://store.myradiostore.com/blxmansp.html

to hook it up to the two input OEM tuner.

Why did you choose the front windshield vs. the rear deck? Do you have the factory-integrated XM or aftermarket?

That's looks great. I hadn't thought of putting the antenna on the front deck. I had metallic tint, so I couldn't use the rear deck. I now have a Terk XM3 on the trunk. Will that one work well in the windshield with some velcro? I believe having metal under the antenna was supposed to improve the reception by reflecting signals back to the antenna.

It should work just as well as the micro antenna...it just won't be as inconspicuous. I tried putting a piece of sheet metal underneath the old antenna when it was on my rear deck & it didn't seem to make a difference.

I put my Terk XM3 on the front dash. The antenna cable was just long enough to reach up there with a few inches to spare. It's low profile so it doesn't block my view and I get the same great reception as out on the trunk.

There is a MUCH smaller one out now, about the size of a quarter. Don't know who makes it, but I saw it at Ocean Audio in Va. Beach. 757 422 0910 ask for John.

That's Terk's new micro antenna that I mentioned...it's not as wide as Blitzsafe's but it is a little bit taller.
