D3 + Bose system not loud enough

Hey guys I recently replaced my head unit with an Avic-D3. I used the metra harness to connect it to the stock amp/speakers. The issue I'm heaving is that even when I have the volume set at 40, the system is not very loud. I remember the being louder if I turned it up with the stock head unit. Any advice/solution?

Question

Something might be funky somewhere, My D3 sounds 10X louder than the Premium Bose HU... Did you splice your wires or use the aftermarket radio adapters? IDK what the situation is but is should be the other way around, I can't even turn my D3 past 30 cause its so loud unless I'm trying to impress somebody.

I recently had D3 installed with stock bose speakers and it sounds better and louder than the original Bose HU, a very noticeable difference for me. Bass is harder, treble is louder, very happy with the results.

You should look into a line driver to increase the line voltage or replacing the Bose amp with a real one.

Can we hook up a 4 chanel amp to the stock bose speakers? I've got one from my old car I can use. Haven't gotten my D3 yet, but I want to plan my install options.

Yes, but if you are installing a D3 and an amp, you should consider replacing the Bose speakers as well.

Something might not be grounded well. Check that out. Also, just re-check all your cable connections. Maybe something came loose. I have not done my install yet in my car (waiting for all my parts to come in), but from what I have seen and heard, it should be a lot better sounding even with the Blows amp and speakers.

Also, as to the other question about an aftermarket amp and bose speakers, you can do it, but you have to make sure the amp you have can put out the ohms needed for the bose speakers. Be careful with it.
