Very Poor Radio Reception. Any way to boost antenna strength?
I dont know if this is a common problem, after searching several times I still havent found many complaints nor solutions.
My 03' coupe w/ stock Bose stereo sucks. I live in Orange County, CA and I can hardly pick up any radio stations. The stations that I do pick up tend to go in and out very easily.
Case in point: If I were to hit the "scan" button (which scans over all stations that have a decent signal) it will go though all stations over and over without stopping at all. In other words, it cant find any decent radio signal.
I listen to CD's alot, but I like to listen to morning radio and talk radio during my commute. It was kinda frustraing when I rented a cheap *** Chevy Cavalier and it had crystal clear reception up to about 2 hours away from Los Angeles! I live about 30 mins away and I still cant get decent reception!
Okay, so enough ranting and whining. Anyone have this problem and figure out a solution? I would like to keep the stock system as I like the way it's integrated and it works well. All I want is better reception.
Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem. Window antenna but no tint. Had radio replaced twice b/v CD keeps breaking-- no radio has gotten good reception. the radio on my 1992 Volvo with >200,000 miles gets better reception than the G35 radio. On the consumer reports catalog, the lowest grading on the G35 was for the brakes and audio system.... both got solid black marks indicating that in comparison to other cars, the G35 had much worse rating for both sound quality (I concur), reception (I agree) and repair records (I agree again). The Bose system installed is actually a Clarion (I think) with the Bose tag put on it-- most folks know that Clarion makes low grade, Wal-Mart quality systems. This has been an embarrassment to Infiniti.
Good luck!
Good luck!

^ Only the Bose HU is made by Clarion. The amp and speakers are Bose. Clarion makes some high quality and some entry level aftermarket equipment, but the G35 HU is not their best work.
